The operation, control and management of any business organization are conditioned by the environment where it exists. Environment is a set of complex factors & forces. The difficulty is pronounced when we find that we are placed in a changing and dynamic system. Keeping this in mind, attempt should be made to pursue the subject as according to the latest changes.
Part I Business Framework - 10 credits.
-Environment of Business, Critical elements of economic system. Social Development (Trade Union Movement, Consumer movement, Management Movement, Social Responsibilities of Business). Political legal Environment Govt. Machinery, Legislation's (Corporate laws,
MRTP, CPA, Industrial laws).
Part II- Govt. and Business -10 credits.
-Govt. business relationship, The role of Govt., Public Sector Rationale, Disinvestment of
PSUs, India's economic problems (Unemployment, Inflation) ,Analysis of last fiscal budget.
Part III- Monetary and Fiscal Environment-10 credits.
-Indian Banking System, Credit management by RBI, Financial institutions (IFCI;
ICICI; IDBI; NABARD; UTI; EXIM Bank, SIDBI; BIFR)
-Indian Fiscal System- Indian Capital market, Financial Sector Reforms and
SEBI.
Part IV - Foreign Exchange Environment - 10 credits.
-Foreign Exchange Market (a basic framework), FERA/ FEMA, EXIM Policy, Foreign Technology Collaboration (Foreign Direct Investment and Technology Transfer), Convertibility of Rupee, BOP Problem.

2. Basics of accounting mechanics - Preparation of Profit & Loss account from a given trial balance. Distinction between capital and revenue expenditure, Preparation of Balance Sheet - linkage between trial balance, profit & loss a/c and balance sheet.
3. Legal Aspects - Legal requirements relating to preparation of financial statements of limited companies. Requirements of Company's act relating to annual accounts - Disclosure requirements relating to annual accounts. Annual reports and its contents. Legal requirements for statutory audits.
